About The Sugar Guide
Independent, NYC-first information for adults exploring sugar dating — written plainly, funded transparently.
Who We Are
The Sugar Guide is a small, independent editorial website that helps adults in New York City make informed decisions about sugar dating. We research and write practical guides: how the NYC scene works, how to find a sugar daddy in NYC, which platforms are worth your time, and how to stay safe. Our college section serves NYC students aged 20 and over. We are not a dating service, we don't operate a platform, and we don't sell memberships or personal data.
Our Audience
We write for adults aged 20 and over in the NYC metro area:
- Sugar babies — including NYC college and graduate students, our featured section — researching how the scene works and how to enter it safely.
- Sugar daddies — established professionals in the Tri-State area who want to understand the etiquette, expectations, and safety norms of the NYC scene.
How We Create Our Guides
Trust is the whole product here, so we're explicit about our process:
- Platform facts come from official sources. Features, verification systems, and prices are checked against the platform's own website and pricing pages before we publish them. Time-sensitive facts carry a "verified" date — for example, the pricing in our platform review was verified in August 2026.
- Venue recommendations are verified and dated. Every restaurant, café, hotel lobby, and public space we recommend is checked against its official page and marked with a "last verified" date. We re-check venue lists every three months and link to official pages so you can confirm current hours yourself.
- Examples are labeled. When we use an illustrative scenario — a sample message, a template profile — it is marked as a template or a hypothetical example. We do not publish made-up "reader stories," invented student anecdotes, or fabricated case studies.
- No invented credentials or testing theater. We don't claim expertise we don't have, don't fabricate hands-on tests we didn't run, and don't publish statistics, success rates, or member counts we can't source. Where a claim comes from a company itself (like its own member-count marketing), we say so.
- Corrections are public. If we get something wrong, we fix it promptly. Report errors to contact@thesugarguide.com.
How We Review Platforms
When we evaluate a dating platform, we look at verification practices (photo, income, identity), member quality and activity in the NYC metro area, privacy controls, company track record, moderation and reporting tools, and overall value — and we only publish what we can verify against official sources. If we can't verify a platform's current features and pricing, we don't review it. Rankings and recommendations on this site are never sold, and platforms cannot pay to be featured or to influence what we write.
Affiliate Disclosure
This site is reader-supported. Some outbound links on The Sugar Guide — including links to the dating platforms we review — are affiliate links. If you click one of these links and join or purchase a membership, we may earn a commission. This comes at no additional cost to you; the price is the same whether you use our link or not.
Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content. We recommend platforms because we believe they serve our readers well, and pages containing affiliate links carry a clear disclosure. Affiliate links on this site use rel="nofollow sponsored noopener noreferrer" for safety and SEO compliance. This disclosure is provided in the spirit of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and testimonials.
Editorial Independence Statement
The Sugar Guide is independent. We are not owned by, affiliated with, or funded by any dating platform. We do not take payments for placement. Our editorial process is separate from any affiliate relationships, and we have turned down platforms that asked to pay for positive coverage. If we ever feature a platform that we would not recommend to a close friend, the site has failed at its job — please let us know.
Age Requirement & Responsible Use
The content on this site is intended for adults aged 20 and over. Sugar dating, like all dating, involves meeting people from the internet — please read our full safety guidance before meeting anyone, and never send money or financial account details to someone you haven't met in person. If you are under 20, this site is not for you. Please close the tab.
Privacy
The Sugar Guide itself does not collect personal information, run accounts, set cookies for tracking, or process signups. When you leave our site via a link, you are subject to the privacy policy of the destination website. We do not sell or share reader data, because we do not collect any.
